Despite a six-month writing slump, I remain as Truthologic as ever, and would like to share with you some thoughts as we enjoy this year-end holiday season. By no means do I want to put a damper on your celebration; I am simply serving up some food for thought as we give pause and gear up for the new year ahead.

As I stand here, about to face my imminent demise, I would like to reflect upon my short life on earth. I was taken away from my mother shortly after I was born and never saw her again. 2014 has been an extremely busy year thus far and I feel like I have been carrying around some extra weight. After hovering around 200 lbs for the past several months, I set a goal earlier this year to reach 190 by this Summer. Despite consistently making quality food choices, limiting my portion sizes and exercising regularly, my weight does not seem to be responding as I have come to expect. Continue reading
Eating healthy can be complicated! There are so many different dietary guidelines and recommendations these days, some of which are contradictory to one another, that it’s easy to become overwhelmed and frustrated. I often wonder if we are missing the boat entirely when it comes to dieting for optimal health and longevity. In my opinion, too much time and energy is spent on various tangential imperatives, while ignoring the incredibly basic principle of eating real food.
